Abstract

Abstract: Chemistry and art are often portrayed as opposite disciplines, one logical and analytical and the other, emotional and expressive. However, these two different spectrums when integrated for the purpose of education giving way to an interdisciplinary paradigm that reveal promising transformation of students learning, engagement, conceptual understanding and overall educational outcomes. This mini- review synthesize thematic insights from academic articles, exploring the multilayered integration of art into science education particularly chemistry. Central themes include the efficacy of cross-disciplinary pedagogy, the power of art as a communication medium for scientific concepts, challenges and future direction. Overall, the review encapsulates works which will transform the landscape of education and thus, reimagining chemistry education through the lens of art.
